Hello everyone!

I have been on MFP for a few weeks now, but I just began using it regularly. Just looking for support as I continue to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

I had lost weight before, but gained it back after having 2 little angels. About 7 months ago, I decided to get back in shape for two reasons: I missed the feeling of being in shape, and I found out my brother needed a kidney transplant and I was a match. I weighed 248 so they wanted me to lose 20 lbs before I could be a donor. Fast forward to the present. In late November, I had lost the weight and was two weeks away from the surgery date when my brother got a transplant through the donor list. Even though I was not donating a kidney anymore, I remained determined to continue to shed the pounds. About two weeks ago, my brother passed away due to complications from his lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. I miss him dearly and I am all the more determined to lose weight and be healthy. For him, my babies, my husband, and myself.

Just looking to make new friends, and develop an even greater support base to continue with this journey. I have lost 35 lbs to date since I first begin this journey, as I am down to 213. MFP is a great tool to help me to continue monitoring my progress and work towards my goods. Best wishes to you all!

I am very sorry for your lost. I too lost my brother (not same medical reason) but he has always been my inspiration. I was 220 pounds but now I am down to 205. My short term goal is to get to 170 pounds then I will set a new goal once I reach 170. Mentally, this works for me otherwise thinking of losing more than 50 pounds would discharge me. Please add me as a friend and we can encourage each other and provide support.
