One of my favourite things to eat is chicken breast, red and yellow peppers and onion with fresh cilantro in a flour tortilla. It's a good low calorie meal........except for those darn four tortillas? (80 cals each - pepito brand fajita size)

Any alternatives?

wrap it in a lettuce leaf :)
  • I get tostadas. You can have 2 for 160 cal/240 sodium
  • Mission makes a carb balance whole wheat tortilla. Its still 80 calories but has 8g of fiber so your net carb is 4gs. Its a slightly better alternative.

80 calories for a flour tortilla is not bad at all! I have found some great wheat flour tortillas with great fiber counts! But when it comes to my mexican food, nothing beats a homemade flour tort!!! MMMMMM I miss my mom!!

Walmart sells Joseph's wraps..I think they're around 70 calories but they're loaded with fiber and protein. Have Flax seeds and stuff in them..really yummy!

A large Romaine lettuce leaf can be used as a replacement. It is good, but much more fragile than a tortilla. I am thinking I will just start going with the whole wheat or multi-grain tortillas that Mission brand has. Just as many calories, but better fiber than flour so it will not spike your blood sugar as much.
