What's the deal...I have seen many references on fiber here and on youtube. I am wondering if anyone has any links to studies or articles that discuss fiber and weightloss. Also, if you do take fiber suplements, which ones are good?

Thanks in advance for your responses!!

  • As far as i know, fibers cant be absorbed in your stomach, it just makes you fell full.. I think it has a "cleaning" effect on your intestines :D

    Here's a good article...it's written way better than I can do: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fiber/NU00033

If you include a fiber and protein in every meal and snack it will stay with you longer, keeping you full longer. :)

I eat *much* more fiber than MFP set for my daily goal amount. Works well for me.

Read the labels on fiber pills. they don't offer much. I'd much rahter get mine from real food. It really does help me to feel more satisfied the more fiber I eat.

I actually upped my fibre intake requirements under the custom settings on MFP... women should get MORE than 13.9 grams as it says I should have per day. I am ALWAYS over, and do not take any supplements. Eat whole foods, fruit, veggies (pears have a TON of fibre) Fibre1 Cereal helps too...

I used to use Benefibre all the time, you can't taste it, ect... but prefer to get it through my food as it is one less "chemical" I am putting in my body.
