Note on binge eating

Ok so as seen by some of you i posted before that im a binge eater. I've been reading and trying to work out what will help me. I've written a note to myself in my iPhone. I've decided every time I feel the urge I must read it. This is my attempt to help my body!
Here is my note:
" HELP BINGE TIME!!!!
1. Set the 10 min timer
And take a Chromium tablet. This stops first impulse.
2. Brush your teeth. Even if you give in stuff tastes Yucky with Minty mouth! So you may eat less.
3. Eat some gum. May not want or feel like it but it's only for 10 mins.
4. Don't just watch the timer. Do something mini and easy: put on a load of washing, Clean dex's or bathroom bench, tidy table, Put dishes away. Start to feel more on top of things.
5. Timer goes off.... Re assess the situation, how do u feel? Stressed, tired, anxious? Then don't eat, exercise! If too tired or lazy don't stress, watch tv. It's less calories than a binge!
6. Ok to read this you must have concluded your hungry. Let's lay a few rules down. You may now eat something! Don't restrict to 100 cals, it doesn't satisfy. You need satisfaction. You can walk off if needed. You can't walk off a binge session. So......
* It must be on a plate and seated.
* Eat a sandwich it's way less calories than a binge.
* Icy pole or Lolly pop takes ages to eat.
And remember:
* If it's a binge it must be in front of the mirror. Take accountability for the session, wake up and realize whats happening
* ok so I wasn't seen binging but they actually do see.... It's on your thighs. That ain't from health eating.
* Higher bmi increases the risk of depression."
What does everyone think? Anything I can add or extra tips? I want to help myself and if this helps anyone out there to well it's a bonus

I got the binging under control after I started MFP and got all the junk out of my system.
But you could also take L-Glutamine and B-50 Complex and Chromemate (3 capsules at once) when you feel binge coming on. That's what I used to have to do.0 -

A lot of this is stuff I have heard before but I had not heard the eat in front of a mirror before. I love it! also might add put your fork down between bites. Even if its cake if you have to put it down and pick it up ..well you eat a lot slower and seem to reach that full feeling a bit sooner. I don't understand it completely but it does work for me. I am a cookie fiend and if I only put out what I can have..maybe even freeze the ones I cant, and have to walk to the kitchen to get them each time. You know..go sit where you want in another room and go back for them one at a time..at least I got some movement in with it. lol. Good luck and thanks for sharing your thoughts.0

i bought a size 7 pair of jeans...im a 13..they hang in my bedroom reminding me to stay on track, i try them on every month...and everytime it gets a bit easier to get up my legs(they wont go all the way for a while) thats how i stop...and i put a picture of me at my heaviest on my fridge and cubbards...really makes me stop!0

Do you mind my asking if chromium really helps curb bingeing? I've struggled with this my whole life. I know I'm not hungry, but I CRAVE food sometimes and it's like there's nothing you can do to stop it. It's awful. I think that unless someone has experienced these issues they can never fully understand what it's like to crave food like there's no tomorrow.0

I love your idea about doing it in front of the mirror... this makes it real and makes you see and take accountability for what you are doing. What a fantastic suggestion and thanks for sharing.0

There's a great chapter on emotional eating in Tom Venuto's Body Fat Solution that I found very helpful. I highly recommend it.0

I don't know - I do this and all it does is make me feel miserable and guilty (and not in an empowering 'oh, I'll never do this again!' kind of way). For me, it's a very disordered action. I think it's better to just get a hold of the behaviour than to make yourself feel terrible for it...0 -
I just had a fiendish thought: if a mirror's not to hand you have to video it on your iPhone :devil:
For me mfp has mainly done the job. I am not about to record a tub of Ben and Jerry's, so it doesn't happen. I also find stopping and letting the sugar craving wash over me has helped. I know it's not hunger, and once I take full consciousness of that, it helps.
Having said that, having bought a hazelnut wafer after swimming, with 53 calories a stick, two really wasn't enough, 3 was still not right, but after 4 I felt ok again and had no urge to eat wafers 5 and 6.0
