LOL Why do we all . . .

Why do we all think our bodies respond to diet and exercise differently than the other 3 or 4 billion human bodies on the planet? Somehow, we're the exception that will gain weight and become less healthy while eating and exercising more. Me included.

Haha I never thought that. I have it tried out. I know what works for me... also Im quite lucky: I was never on fad diets and I am relatively young, so my body still listens to me and I listen to it...

Their are three basic body types (not sure what the official names are) some people run better on higher carb diets, some people run better on a good mix like recommended by the website here, and some run better on lower carb high protein diets so we can be different. If you are eating the wrong stuff you will have a difficult time with weight loss. Also genetics have a part in this. Every overweight person isn't just lacking willpower.

IMHO the "body type diet" based on ectomorphs, endomorphs and mesomorphs is a load of cobblers.

I look like an ectomorphy when I eat lean and train hard.
I look more like a mesomorph when I swim a lot and lift more weights.
I look like an endomorph when I eat too much and don't train...

It's still my body, the same body....

It's just a good excuse to say "ooooh I'm a natural endomorph"...

I just think that we are naturally lazy. I train for marathons myself and I STILL find ways to slack off and eat garbage. Why? Because it's easier.

This is an easy one. We look for easy cop-out excuses.

There are different body types, now is there just 3 probably not. But some ppl are genetically prone to be slimmer, or muscular or even heavy. It isn't an excuse or being lazy. It is a fact. I have always been heavy all my life. Nothing I could do except starvation would help me lose weight... And yes, I excerised alot..
Everyone's body makeup is different. that is why some can eat sweets without gaining while others can look at them and gain 5lbs. Not everyone that is overweight is lazy. So to generalize based on looks is ignorant and ill educated.
