Does any one else get this now they are losing weight???

I have never had it after potatoes before but since starting on my diet/exercise regime properly a few weeks ago I havent had any potatoes until yesterday and today (a medium baked one yesterday and 2 small roasted ones today) and within half an hour of eating them I have felt horribly bloated and the potatoes are the only things I can put it down to.

Ive always had bloated tummy if I eat apples or drink fizzy drinks (so as you can imagine I do neither very often) but never with potatoes so just wondered if it is normal or if anyone else suffers with it or am I just plain weird lol

I think once we really pay attention to what we are eating, and working out we notice different things!! I don't so much have a problem with potatoes, but if i eat anything super carby(popcorn, pasta) i get a canker sore, as well as the gross bloated feeling, i never noitced that, but i bet i've been sensitive to them forever! Good luck!

yeah I guess you are right!! Never really thought of it that way :) Maybe I will limit my potato intake - although like I said they were the first Ive had in about 3 weeks so I don't eat them often.
Well done on almost reaching your goal :)

I get bloating if I eat white sliced bread ,which I never do now as I hate the feeling and much prefer wholemeal or a seeded bread now.

Could be pesticides. Try to buy organic or local potatoes.and see if it makes a difference

ooh didnt think of that either will have to try organic ones see if it makes a difference as I do like to have the occasional baked potato :)

If not I guess I will just stay away from them :)
  • I am 59 and have had problems all my life with certain foods. Just got my DNA tested for $200 and now I know why eggs, animal fats and proteins, fish oil supplements etc are not my cup of tea. If you are interested, google the Perfect Gene Diet. I got the paperback book online for $12 after my PA suggested I look into this. He is wanting to see me back in two months and expecting my cholesterol to be under control without meds.
