Hi everyone!
I'm new here, but I was wondering for those of you who do Zumba, how do you log the calories burned? Thanks!

Hi...I used the My Exercise tab under Exercise...It calculates the calories burned and everything.
It creates a tailor-made Zumba for your weight.0 -
It depends on your body weight and how rigorous the zumba class is. I recommend getting a heart rate watch from your local sports store. You can wear it when you go and set it to your weight, it'll track your heart weight and the calories burned. Everytime I go, it says I've burned 1,000 calories in 1 hour. I do zumba twice a week.0

I also wear a heart rate monitor when doing zumba and burn about 750 calories per 1 hour class. It is said you burn between 600- 1000 per class. I made a new exercise for zumba in my workouts and log calories based on the HRM. BUT before I had the monitor I ws giving myself 700 flat calories burned. Good luck, I go 5 days a week, lost 11 lb's and have 20 to go!0

you can go to your excercise diary and click "create excercise" and add it yourself if you know the amount of calories you burned. since many zumba classes are different paces/styles, and everyone is a different weight, it's difficult to go by what someone else burns. last week, i just searched the database and put high impact arobics and the amount of time my class lasted. this week, i have a heart rate monitor and will know how much i burn. hope this helps and makes sense.0

Thanks everyone! Are the heart rate monitors spendy?0

You can get one for about $30 at Target or someting. They're not bad at all.0

Mine was around $70, however the range is $28 (walmart) up into the hundreds of dollars. The brand of mine is Polar and it had great reviews (I researched and read reviews for a week before making my decision). I have a co-wprker who has had her Polar for 6 years and it's still accurate. I've only had mine for 3 days, but am already in love with it. I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred and I find out exactly how many calories I burn since it knows my weight/height/age plus it's strapped to my chest so my heartbeat is right there. Just look online and pick theone who has the best customer feedback and the options you want. I'll keep you posted on how mine works in Zumba this week if you want0
