Hi! I'm training for my first marathon, and now I'm getting into some 10+ mile runs. I want to get a CamelBak, a model that goes on your back, not around your waist...so what's the best one out there for runners specifically??? :flowerforyou:

I'm not sure which models work for runners. It depends on how much "bounce" you can tolerate. I just have one of the more basic models and its terrible for running. If there are any that have a secondary tie down, I would go with that.0

does yours have the horizontal chest strap? They make some with that, and they make some that have that plus a waist strap.0

bump! This I want to know. Yesterday I ran my 9 miles and had no water. I ran out of sweat and was all salty feeling and so thirsty!0

Bump.
I got a Gregory Rufuos as a gift but have yet to try it out since I've just been using my Mule for when I go riding.

i use to run with them ( flashflo lr and the hydrobak ) but now i use fuelbelt and love it way more
the camelbaks are great for hiking and cycling but the sloosh does get annoying ( i do half marathons )
with the fuelbelt i have smaller bottle and it can also hold gatorade or gels
my 2 cents0 -

I have the horizontal chest strap but no waist strap.
I would think the waist strap helps a lot.
For running I use a amphipod belt, for hiking my camelbak.0 -
I run with a fuel belt and hike with a camelback. I hate the sloshing around that accompanies the camelback. I have run several marathons and the fuel belts always worked well. Another benefit of the fuel belt is that if you like to alternate between a sports drink and plain water you can fill each fuel belt bottle with something different whereas with the camelback you are stuck with one drink type.0

I'm so low tech that I got el-cheapo in the bicycle department from Wal-Mart (I think the brand is Bell)...and I think it works just fine. I'm just not annoyed as so many others seem to be of the sloshing water because it's just a little noise the weight of the water moving is not noticable for me.0
