I didn't know I could jog any distance until we invested in a treadmill last weekend. I ran the pre-programmed 5K today with incline mostly between 1-3%. My time was 34:01. I'm not sure how that would compare for what's typical in my age bracket (I'm 34yo) but since I was going to try to average 5mph, I beat my goal by just a little bit. That makes me happy.
Who else is planning to do their first road race this summer (any distance)? What are you doing to train and prepare?
I've also got the membership application for the local runner's club ready to mail out tomorrow. :blushing: I'm really excited!

I just ran in an Arbor Day race in Biloxi ms ( this is probably my 10th 5k) My time was 36:54. My friend won 1st for our age bracket (30-35 yr old) , her time was 21 minutes. Even without winning, it feels great to get out there and have a beautiful morning doing something that makes me feel good! I hope you enjoy it!0
