Yesterday was not a very good day for me. I went to a bridal shower and ate some things I probably shouldn't have. I did take only a half of a piece of quiche, and a small amount of chicken salad. I did have a mimosa, two mini muffins and a piece of cake with raspberry filling and very sweet icing. Also 2 pieces of candy. OK, that's over, and back on track.

I actually used a measuring cup for ice cream last night. So while I said yes to ice cream, it was a much much smaller portion!! Boy have I been eyeballing portions wrong!!

Daybyday- Great job using the measuring cup. That's a real eye opener isn't it? I used to eat handfuls of cocoa almonds all day long. Now a measure out 1/4 cup, and when it is gone, I quit. It is amazing how long I can stretch out that quarter cup by eating them so much more slowly.

OK - here's my portion story. First, you need to know that my husband cooks dinner most nights. He is not a vegetable eater, but is very good about making some for me...usually he makes a one or two serving size portion of canned, frozen or fresh veggies. Tonight, he served Steamfresh Italian Blend veggies. I thought it looked like a pretty big serving, but I know they are very low cal, so I ate them all. Later, I realized he had made the entire package, and the package said that it was FOUR servings!! Fortunately, it was only 30 calories per serving (3/4 cup) but still, I feel like such a piggy....:blushing:

Ugh - two major temptations today. The wonderful baker / coworker brought in Oatmeal Raisin cookies today and she put them on the file cabinet right outside my office. And today was the monthly birthday celebration. Instead of cake we had cupcakes - they looked so good, and they were actually kind of small so I could have easily talked myself into having "just one". But I said NO to the cookies and the cupcakes. It was tough!! I really don't think I would have done it, except for Lent and this vow I made to give up indulgences.
