Before I gave up meat I used to stuff them with spring greens, tomatoes, chicken and hummus. Now I use tofu or use all veggies. You can also do put a breakfast scramble inside with salsa. Basically any kind of sandwich can be made into a pita. You can also use as a pizza crust or for tostadas.

Stuff them like a sandwich, or with salads, like egg and tuna, dip them in low fat sauces and such, top them and use them as pizza dough. Fill with scrambled egg, black beans and salsa.
  • I agree! I LOVE wheat pitas... you could stuff them with:

hummus and lots of veggies, plus a little olive oil or balsamic dressing :)

your favorite salad ingredients (romaine, some shredded low-fat cheese, cucumbers, dressing)

    Peanut butter! :)
  • I make mini pizzas. I make a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic and spread a small amount over the pita. Then just add some part skim mozzarella, plum tomatoes, and fresh basil. Bake them in the oven at 425 until they seem crisp and enjoy.
