I feel bummed today, yes i know I just started my 1200 cal diet yesterday, but today i caved and went to arbys with boyfriend. I stayed the night, and he had nada in his cabinets for lunch ( i dont eat breakfast)...bleh....How do you deal with the guilt that comes with overeating?

I already surpassed my calories for the day and now I can't eat anything the rest of the day. I guess I'm fine with that, I can drink water...I can't excersize as I'm leaving for an appt now and have to work until 10 =( Guess tommorow will be a new day and i'll double up the workout!

aww no worries..i was having troubles like that too when i first started...it felt like i ruined my whole week! But then I would just start fresh the next week doing my best to eat in portions. Good luck!

Don't worry too much, just don't make it a habit. We get hung on daily calories when the week as a whole is what matters. Shave some off somewhere else, put in some extra exercise, etc. to try to get your week back in line.

tomorrow is a fresh day with no mistakes in it! :flowerforyou:
  • Also, remember what I realized when I binged yesterday. I went over goal by 100 calories. I have my goal set to lose 2 lb per week - a deficit of 1000 calories a day. If I binge by 100 total (I worked off the other 400), I'm still ahead 900 for the day!

But the others are right - pay more attention to your weekly numbers - we all can have bad days.

The important thing is to remember that we all have days where we eat something bad for us, literally everyone does it. Don't worry about it when it happens, it'll probably happen every so often. Just remember tomorrow is a new day and you can't start fresh then. Don't go down the slippery slope of thinking you've blown the week so you'll start again next week. Each day is new.

Also don't starve yourself the rest of the day, just eat something light and low calorie but something that satisfies you.
