So last night I entered in for today that I was going to do 1hr on the elliptical and it said I burned 900+ calories, well today I decided to buy a HRM and I did my 1 hour exercise and I only burned 500 calories. So had I went off just what the site said I could be hurting my weight loss. I've heard numerous people say they are so happy they invested $ into a HRM, and I agree now. I'm hooked on it now, and I'm so thankful I invested $ into one.

So what kind did you get? I've been thinking about getting one, but don't want to spend too much money on it.

I, too want to know what you got!
I've been looking at Body Bug, etc.. but not sure it's worth the investment!

I also like it because it tells you when your heart rate is TOO high!
I will neverrrr work out without mine :)
    I got the Polar FT4, it's my new love:happy:
    Best $80 I've ever spent.
It's crazy to see how off the machines and MFP's estimates are!

I have thought about getting one for months now, and been strongly thinking about it lately. I just don't have a clue what to get.

My HRM has been a great investment. From what I saw early on in my exercises, I didn't think the calories burned total was very accurate just going off a database average. Being able to actually track what I've been burning (especially for different activities that have no/little calorie burn data online), was really helpful.

I got the Polar F4 I think it is, it was $90 at Best Buy! Best $ I have ever spent! The only thing I didn't like was the chest strap being a little too tight, but as I lose weight it will get easier.

I use Polar and love it! A little $$, but worth it. HRM go off how hard your heart is working and the calories are far more accurate then the site!

I'm getting the Polar F4 hopefully tomorrow! I'm excited to use it for gym and for home workouts because those I really have no clue if I'm guessing right or not on what I'm burning.

Ok - I am a total geek - here is what I have:

    BodyBugg
    Polar FT7
Recumbent bike has a heart monitor and calorie counter
Treadmill has a heart monitor and calorie counter
EA Sports Active 2 has a heart monitor and calorie counter

I have not done any formal comparisons, but find that the FT7 and Bike tend to show the lowest.
