do you count the sugar in milk towards you daily total?

I realized milk has 12 grams sugar per cup. I usually have 2 cups (I use a measuring cup, not a glass) a day one with my cereal and 1 in my coffee. My intake is supposed to be 24 grams for sugar and that js my total. Now I know everyone says to not count sugar from fruit, is it the same for milk?

to me it seems if its in there it needs to be counted, even fruit. Too much sugar regardless where it comes from would be bad.0

yea count it, basically thats where all my sugar comes from Im set at 35gr or less...you gotta count fruit sugar too...but lactose has better benefits towards weight loss that fruit so dont panic, drink at least 3 servings of lactose a day...:)

Thanks! I was a little worried. I was thinking why am I going over so much on sugar? (Besides when I have my treats) normally I'm over every day.0 -
Yeah i have too being diabetic it is better for me to be under my total. It sounds sick but at time i will have my rice krispies with water just to avoid the milk. Trust me you don't want to do that unless you have too. Not that good!0

Yes I would sugars in milk are enough to rot teeth so yes I think they'd be important to "count"
If you want to lower them you may try almond milk 8 grams per cup(natural cane juice or something) and all the same nutrients except for protein, it is lower.0
