    Water weight is when your body retains water and then that makes you weigh more. If you don't drink enough water during the day your body will hang onto what it can for when it needs it. You can easily lose 1 kg. of water weight overnight or gain 1 kg. The more water you drink, the more your body releases it rather than retaining it. Eating foods high in sodium / salt can also make you retain more water.

    The increase in weight due to increased levels of sodium/ salt is the body regaining its electrolytic balance, and to do this i takes on more water...

    also, keep in mind that just 8oz of water weighs a whopping half of a pound!!!
