I just switched to a treadmill that factored in my weight to calculate calorie burn and was so happy about the faster burn and wondered...
If I treadmill with an 80 pound backpack will I burn calories like I was 80 pounds heavier?
Thanks

More or less, yes, because your body is literally carrying that extra weight.0

Which is why adding weights to your cardio will help you burn more.....Weighted gloves, ankle weights, "heavy hands", etc. I've been walking with my 2 lb. heavy hands and it really increases the calorie burn!0

You definitely will burn more calories, but if you want to quantify it, the only way would be to use a heart rate monitor and compare one workout with the 80 pound pack and one without to measure the difference.
You are a stud to work out with that added weight!0
