Hula Hooping

I just dug out and used my weighted hula hoop for the first time, and I did it for about 10-15 minutes (or at least from when the toys get thrown away to when Woody flies away on the kite in TS3, oh the joys of motherhood). I was wondering how effective this is (weighted or normal hula hoop) on your core. Does anyone actually use hula hooping as part of their exercise routine? Any results? Flatter stomach? Stronger core? Anything? It was fun, but I'd like to think there is actually some benefit to it.
Thanks!

I just bought a weighted hula hoop last week!! i read reviews on it from amazon and its supposed to be very effective on your midsection. I try to do mine at least 3 times a week for about 10 mts. At first i was sore. But now, since i do alot more cuircuit training, i really dont know how much effect it has on me. Go to amazon and read some reviews and see if that helps any.0

I am in a Core Fitness class and we definitely use the hula hoop. I used to be able to do it when I was younger, but now?? Nobody can explain to me what I'm doing wrong. Guess, I'll just practice more.0
