Hey! What are some really low calorie, filling, meat free snacks? I'm just wondering because I get hungry sometimes but I don't want to blow all my calories on the little foods in between foods, you know?

As lame as it sounds, i take a ziploc bag of cut veggies or a yogurt with a granola bar with me to school for my snack.

Same faves here! Sometimes I add craisins/raisins and chocolate chips with some nuts for a real treat. Also popcorn can satiate.

I like Kellog's Special K Chocolatey Chip Cookie with 1-2 cups of water. Takes care of my chocolate fix and the water mixes with the granola and expands to help make ya feel full.

-fresh veggies and a hummus or yogurt dip
    -apple slices/ 2 T peanut butter
    -a baked medium sweet potato
    -avacado slices with salsa
    -organic/all-natural granola bars
-low-sugar, high fiber cereal and skim milk
-yogurt with dried or fresh fruit
    -edamame beans
  • Pop popcorn the old fashion way, and then spray it with some pam (in place of butter) so a little salt will stick. It's filling and pretty yummy.

Hummus or low fat dip and veggies
Baked chips and salsa and guacamole
One egg omelet with lite sour cream and salsa (under 100 calories)
chobani non fat yogurt (vanilla) and 1/4 c fresh berries (about 150)

I like to combine a little higher calorie, like a just few crackers with cheese, with lots of veggies or salsa.
I can get my fix for something more restricted, yet still fill up with the veggies.

I make vegetable soup and eat it for a snack. It is only 40-50 calories a bowl if it is just broth and vegetables. You can throw in a few croutons, some beans or rice to add some calories.

Did you know certain types of dill pickles have zero calories! It is one of my favorite things when I don't have much wiggle room in calories for my snacks. I love to have a banana or strawberries with a little nutella on days I have lots of calories available.

This week I have been counting out walnuts:

    7 halves = 96 kcal
    3.5 halves = 48 kcal

Great way to fill up my few remaining calories at the end of the day :)

Plus I don't get the urge to binge on them either, so that really helps!
  • I get sick of the same things so I like to mix it up.

    -tuna cans (approx 120 cals)
    - vege chips (approx 115 cals)
-baked beans cans 130 grams (approx 115 cals)
    - snackabouts (85 cals approx)
-diet chocolate mouses (approx 70 cals)
    - protein bars (ones i have are approx 136 cals)
    - fruit salad

Thank you all so much (: I'll have to start using a lot of these ideas and finding my own favorites. You guys are amazingly helpful!!
  • How did you get your abs to look like that? Do you think it's a lot because of what you are eating?
