i started my pregnancy at 117 pounds. yes, thats not a typo ONE HUNDRED and SEVENTEEN. At the end of my pregnancy i was a whopping 199.

i was diagnosed with toxemia, preeclampsia, eclampsia, and DIC, which should (and almost was) fatal.

i was induced because of extreme blood pressure and dizzyness.

after the 30 hours of labor, i was put into an emergency C-section, my daughters head was literally LOGGED in between my hip bones because i was too small.

i then got transported to ICU for DIC, i recieved 12 blood transfusions (which i guess they replaced all my blood), plasma, and clotting factors.

my entire body swelled up like a balloon and at my max i weighed nearly 250 pounds.

i spent 12 days in the hospital with my very own nurse, but my daughter was sent home with my husband after only 4 days (after they were sure i wasnt going to pass).

now that the hard part is over (recovering from the c-section) and bassically having to learn to walk again.

i am now at 159.0 pounds and my goal weight is 130.

im hoping to be able to be healthy and be able to keep up with this little girl when she turns into a toddler. =]

i hope that i can make some good friends on here for encouragement and some great sucess stories to keep me going.

congratulations on a beautiful daughter, sorry you had to go through such an ordeal

Getting healthy is important but make sure you give your body time to recover, even a straight forward pregnancy and birth it will take time for your body to physically recover and given what you went though your body will still be recovering.

Good on you for being proactive and enthusiastic in getting back to your pre-baby weight/health you will find lots of support around here

Wow, what an incredible story. I am so glad you and your baby are healthy today! You can do this. My baby is 9 months old. I was 117 when I got pregnant with her too. Now, I will be just happy to be 120-125.
