Fat burning after workout

ok, so I've tried p90x interval x plus. Higher intensity than I'm used to, but loved it! Managed to hit 181 on HRM, never did that before! 170 is my highest usually. My resting rate is 63, wen I'm sedentary for a while. 83 other times whilst just sitting. Walking is usually 112-130 depending on intensity. 160 is the highest whilst jogging.
Now my question is, do I stop my polar HRM as soon as I finish workout, or do I wait until heartrate comes down? 30 mins after finishing workout and my heartrate is 111! I've been sitting the whole time.

since you are no longer actively exercising any reading you get on your HRM after you are done will be overestimated as HR does not translate to cals burned in linearly. The cals burned by and HRM is a calculation that uses HR as one input, and the calculation assumes you are working out the whole time.

I've wondered the same thing am I still burning since my heart rate is still high? Can I count those calories? I do...but my heart rate goes down after a few minutes so it only adds about 5-10 calories.

Thanks everyone :) I suppose I should just add my exercise cals, and if still burning after that then it's an added secret bonus :)
