New to site...suggestions welcome

New to this site. Have lost 30pds over the last year but it doesn't seem like enough. Have tried different diets etc. and nothing seems to have worked. I am a stay at home mom with three small children 4, 3, 2. It did a work on my body. I have lost all the baby weight but need to loose all the extra I had when I got pregnant. If anyone has any suggestions or advice I will take it.

    Welcome. Best thing I can tell you right now is to go to General Diet and Weight Loss help and read the sticky posts at the top. There is one for Newbies and the other one is in my signature: "Links...you want to read again and again". You'll find out about MFP's numbers, why they are the way they are, Starvation Mode, Eating too little, eating back exercise calories burned, etc.

    There is a wealth of info in the Message boards.
  • Wow, I can really relate to your struggles! I have four kids, my eldest being 15...then I have 4, 2.5 and 6 months...I have lost the baby weight, but I was chubby when I got pregnant (and I remain so!) I lost alot of weight between my 4 and 2.5 year old (25 lbs), but it isn't enough. I have 36 lbs to go till I am healthy. Even if I lose the weight, then I have to deal with the 'changes' to my tummy and other areas...it is a struggle, but my babies sure were worth it! I like this site though...it is basically science; log what food comes in, what excercise goes out...if you burn more than you eat, you should lose weight. I have only been here for 2 weeks, but so far it is vary good! Good luck!
