I wouldn't do this myself. I have done weight watchers in the past, and the rule was "Eat them or lose them". This is what I stick with.

    Agreed.

If you're on a weekly goal, I suppose you could, but it doesn't really teach you anything aside from deprivation, and binging later.

That's how we did it on Weight Watcher's.

Your body kind of goes on a 24 hour schedule, "saving" only half works-you'll still experience a gain the next day from bloating most likely. But doing it once in a while shouldn't harm your weight loss. If I know that I'm going to be going out on the weekend & will have a few drinks I try to give up one thing from my diet during the week that isn't super healthy and that I can do without.

some people do average their calories over a week, but I don't know if you can really do this. There was an article I saved about how someone could maintain being obese eating just 700 calories a day on average:

I would go for more of a like a cheat day, where you can eat what you want, but still not exceed your calories by more than 20%.
  • I do a 7 day rotation of about 500 extra calories. I tend to use them for eating out, etc. But no more than 7 days, and no more than 500 calories seems to be the trick. If I do any more than that, the gain sticks around for more than 1 day- and god knows I don't want that!
  • okayy just to be on the safe side i think i will eat less and esxcercise that day i want a takeaway or a drink with my freinds :) Winning both ways doing that aint i...

Weight Watchers has a 2 out of 1000 success rate...I'd say probably not the best way to go about it...

I do this for special occasions, but not on a regular basis.
