No calories for strength exercises?

Options
Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but I did 25 push ups this morning and entered it into the exercise section. But it didn't register as calories spent. Should I assume that you only get "credit" for aerobic exercises, or did I do something wrong?

that would depend on your intensity level and your weight. a heart rate monitor can be your best friend ;-)

I noticed this last week. I started strength traning on machines at the gym. I log what machine I used, how much weight, how many reps and sets and I get no "credit" for it. I only see what I've done when logging exercise under cardio. There is a section for calisthenics under cardio, which will calculate calories burned for sit ups, push ups, etc. I just sort of figured that cardio burns the calories and strength training tones the muscles...so I'm burning and toning, and allowing no extra calories for my toning. I don't know if I'm figuring this correctly, though. Hope this makes some sense! :)
