Trying to do it right

Hello all! My name is Dani, I'm a 22 year old college student and I've been trying to take control of my fitness since high school.
I'm 5'8" and currently 180lbs(my lifetime heaviest) I've never been in the best shape, but it hasn't ever been a problem until the last year or so. I weighed 145 my senior year of high school and just worked my way up from there. I've tried about 30 or 40 times over the years to start a more healthy lifestyle and never seem to be able to stick with it for longer then a few days. My ultimate goal is to just feel confident about my body, but to but a number on it I would like to eventually be right around 145/150 again.
