I have wondered the same thing. I can't see how it would be the same after you filter out all the pulp and fiber. I have always used the full calorie count just to make sure I cover, but I know it is some number less than that.

Wow, what a coincidence. Our juicer came today. We got the Omega 8004. Plan to go to our co-op tomorrow and pick up some different fruits and veggies and some wheatgrass. Anyone have any tasty recipes?

Hi! I actually have a juicer and have had it for a couple of years.

I know that it makes a little more work, but I actually recommend you use The Daily Plate through LiveStrong.com to get the calories for your fresh juices. They have quite a few of them. And if you make a concoction that is not on there, you should just make sure you pay attention to what you're getting.

Say it takes you 5 carrots to get what you want for a carrot/apple/ginger blend that you're making. And you know from the Daily Plate how much a serving of carrot juice is. Then you just divide the amount of carrot juice you have by the amount that is in a serving and get the calories for your portion that way.

If that does not make sense, friend me and sit tight. I will add some juice blends to my recipes and my blog this week and put them in the database for you to use and then you should be set.

The offer to friend me to get to my recipes is open to ALL on the this thread. So go ahead and I will share everything I have!

I also have yummy recipes for healthy muffins and sorbets and other goodies that you can make using your pulp.

I put my juice recipe into the recipe part of my food diary. It said my juice is over 500 calories. There is no way! I do not know how to accurately measure it.

Here is a guide for responsible juicing. Please download the e-book and read it. It is free.

I use it for my husband, he likes to drink his fruits and veggies.
