When you enter what type of lifestyle you lead "sedentary", "active", etc, MFP calculates, on average, how many calories you burn during the day without exercise. Then it calculates how many calories you should eat so that you are burning more calories than you eat. When you exercise you are burning even more calories and too many calories burned will put your body into starvation mode and stop weight loss.0

Yes. Even if you eat back all your exercise cals, you're still burning more as you go about your daily business. That's why it asks you how active you are when you set up your goals. It automatically creates a deficit so you naturally burn more than you're "allowed" to eat. You don't technically have to exercise to lose weight with this site/system. I don't, but it's definitely heathier to do so.
Hope that helped!!0 -
No! Your body needs calories for its basic functions like breathing, moving, and your heartbeat. Working off more than youre eating will cause your body a shock and you'll become malnourished. This isn't healthy!0
