I am very close to my goal weight at this point, and you know what they say 'The last pounds are the hardest to lose'. Well oh boy do I know that's right.
I've been stuck at 123 for at least a month now, and I'd really like any ways to help break through this plateau!

-I eat 1200 calories/day
-Workout twice a day, an aerobics class and the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred
-I am 18
-I am 5'6

From your stats, I'm going to say you dont need to lose anymore weight.

Increase your calories, your metabolism has stalled. You're not eating enough for the exercise. Increase 100 cals a day for a week and see what happens. :flowerforyou:
  • You can't see the way a body holds it's fat from letters and numbers on a screen. Yes, I am thin.
But my body stores all of it's fat in my midsection, which is extremely unhealthy and can cause heart problems in the future.

Are you sure that won't make me GAIN weight? D: I get very nervous about this stuff, because I've worked so hard to get to this point, ya know?

you cannot guarantee weight loss from any certain part of your body. if you want to work on your midsection, do more stomach exercises.
  • I'm aware of that? I was telling the woman who said that I don't need to lose weight, that she can't tell what I look like from my stats.

And stomach exercises alone don't make you lose fat, you have to combine them with cardio and a low calorie diet... hence why I'm asking this question.

Well, you can get stuck at that plateau for a while,,,, I would suggest try changing your work out routine for the next month. You may just need to change that up... but i also agree with increasing your calorie intake or try changing your recipes. for instance if you eat yogurt for breakfast, try oatmeal for more fiber,... that kind of thing. just don't get discuraged. Maybe just walking on the treadmill or a spin class or even elliptical might do the trick. Your body and metabolism are used to your routine, so shock it up a little. best of luck on the changes. keep us posted.... :flowerforyou:

if you were to gain weight by adding an extra 100 calories, it would take 35 days to do so :3
Also, with the 30 day shred, you'll be building muscle and putting on a little lb anyways. Just keep at it, also, try zig zagging your calories.
    1200 x 7 = 8400
    So one day eat 1300 calories, the next eat 1200, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1100, 1200.
fool your metabolism a little. You will be consuming the same calories over a period of time and this helps a lot with plateaus.
Take it slow, you can do it. (:
