Myself and one of my MFP peepz were having a little discussion today on eating back exercise calories. I know we have all heard this debate right.
Well a lot of the people I have met here on MFP who have lost over 100 pounds said they did not eat back their exercise calories and a lot of people he has had this discussion with here that has lost over 100 pounds said they do.
So to the people who have lost over 100 pounds (Which is Awesome by the way, CONGRATS!!! In accomplishing that amazing feat) did you consistently eat back your exercise calories?
To eat or not to eat exercise calories back is the question.
Thanks

This question gets asked daily.

Have you lost over 100 pounds?0

I see why people didn't want to reply because this probably would have turned into a judgmental troll feast with people arguing over eating back calories vs not eating back calories.
The point of this was ask people who lost over 100 pounds if they ate their calories back or not. I know that there are lots of people who who live and die by eating their exercise cals back.
Either way good luck to you all :-)0 -
Have you lost over 100 pounds?
no, not yet,
so I guess I don`t qualify for your group.
Sorry for being the only person to trying to point you in the right direction.0 -
I have lost 115 pounds and found that depending on the type of exercise I am doing, I may need to eat back the calories. If I have done a high cardio or intense strength training workout then I will eat the calories back, but if I have done a light workout through walking then I ususally do not eat them back. Either way, the trick is to find a plan that works for you and stick with it and eat healthy foods!! Good Luck everyone!!0

I also am interested in hearing from folks that have lost a large amount. Although you may not get many answers because as you may have noticed the folks that are very passionate one way or another about this tend to be in the lower weight range category. I am sure someone who has lost over 100lbs on here has seen this debate three times a day for over two years and just shake their head at us
I only have 50 pounds or so to lose so i wont answer. My wife does have 100 pounds to lose and is one quarter of the way. She does eat her exercise calories back so I hope it works.
unicorn19girl, great job! That must feel awesome to have such a great accomplishment. To me my 50 pounds does not seem like much but my wife does occasionally get lost in thoughts of how much she has to lose. Pretty daunting task.0 -
Thanks Jr! Yeah, it does feel good. Don't get discourage and plan fro slip ups now and then. Accept those days and move forward, but most importantly, follow the 90/10 rule. If you eat well 90 percent of the time, you can cut yourself a break the other 10. Good Luck to you and your wife!!0

Thank you Unicorn for sharing what you did I really appreciate it. Congratulations on losing the weight "and" keeping it off. Hopefully there will be others like you that don't mind sharing which path they choose losing the weight. The way you looked at calories makes a lot of sense and it really worked for you. AWESOME Job!!!
Jr9999, thank you for stopping by as well and good luck to you on your journey. Yes I assumed that we might get a few people who would miss the point of this like kevanos did. The point is to see what people who lost 100 pounds went through. I am not looking for direction on which way I should go was just curious on how they got to their goal. I have my plan and my opinion on the matter but that is not relevant in this discussion.
So kevanos I am sorry you thought you were pointing me in the right direction but it seems you misread the question I was asking. But congrats on your 15 pound weight loss as well. Any weight loss is a great achievement. Just because you have not lost 100 lbs (or your goal) "yet" doesn't make your journey or opinion less important its just irrelevant to the question I am asking right now and makes the discussion go off topic like right now and most likely one of the reasons why the true demographic of my question were shy to answer.
Thanks again guys0
