I know I should be measuring on a regular basis along with weighing but I don't. The last time I even measured myself was June 2010, I actually logged it into MFP. So, last night I decided I'd measure for fun, just to see the difference - if there was a difference bc there has been no real big change in weight (gain 2lbs lose 3lbs, gain 2lbs lose 1lb roller coaster, basically been maintaining for about a year even tho I still have 15ish to lose).

All I measured in June 2010 was my hips & waist (measuring my chest was & still is too depressing lol)

Then:
Hips = 43in
Waist = 40in

Now:
Hips = 40in
Wasit = 32in

:bigsmile: Pretty super excited about this. I've given up on my hips ever really coming in, I joke that I can thank my big headed kids for that. :tongue: But 8 inches in my waist!??! Never woulda guessed it.

    Amazing job!!:love: Measuring is a huge motivator for me..I never see REAL changes on the scale, but I have been measuring and having my body fat % tested every two months. Both show a downward trend for me even tho the scale is not moving.

    CONGRATULATIONS!! You should be so proud of yourself!! :drinker:

    I don't really have a solid answer. lol I got really into running last year and that coupled with my new love for the gym is probably what slimmed me down - I didn't do anything specific just to lose inches.

    Thanks guys. :flowerforyou:

    Twinsie - how do you go about having BF% tested?

    At the gym they have this hand-held thing that sends an electrical current thru you (don't worry, you can't feel it) and it reads out how much body fat you have. My gym does it for free, so you should ask at the front desk to see if yours has one.

    Hello hour glass! You should take pictures. With that hip to waist ratio, I’m betting you look great! Congrats on “seeing” the results of your hard work.

    Here are 3 comparison pics...taken 12 days apart each. The first one is what my skin actually looks like lol the quality of the 2nd two pics sucks but I'm lovin it because you can't see my stretch marks haha anyway - stretch marks aside. Can you see a difference in my hip/waist ration?? I originally took them to see how (if) my stomach was toning up at all but the more I look, the more I see my waist is smaller....after just under a month at serious working out.

    Here me is, July 4, 2010.
