I tend to not eat breakfast and eat larger dinners, but research shows you should eat breakfast to better manage weight. Does anyone have some low-cal breakfast ideas? No eggs please!

Steele Cut oats. They take a long time to make (45 mins) But they are SUPER healthy, delicious, and you can make a big batch ahead of time and reheat your breakfast.

    Hi

B-fast is very important...I would try to eat SOMETHING..start slow...

My Dh isn't a b-fast person at all, it's easier for him to drink cals/nutrition....you might want to try Carnation sugar free instant b-fast in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry..I mix the packets with 1/2 skim milk and half water and it's not bad at 100 cals

You may also want to try yogurt (80ish cals) and a piece of string cheese (80 cals)
Trader Joe also makes some great muffins for (80-100 cals)
Thomas's multi-grain english muffins are good (100 cals)

I'm also a big cereal fan..total raisin bran is nutritious and 1 cup is only 160 cals (not my fav though as far as taste, but 100% iron)
I prefer strawberry mini-wheats...nice sized bowl at 180 cals or FiberOne raisin bran
Oatmeal is also a good choice....Quaker weight smart or weight control is 160 cals

Good luck..hopeu find something that works out

Breakfast really should be your biggest meal of the day--it is vital to get in a good healthy breakfast to "jump start" your system for the day. Then, each succeeding meal should be a little smaller--dinner should be the smallest meal of the day.

So, you might not want to necessarily look at Low-cal options but think more towards increasing the size of your breakfast.

Here's a couple good articles about it--

I LOVE Fiber One cereal - keep in mind that I hate cardboard tasting cereal and would rather be eating Cap'n Crunch. If I don't do that for breakfast i'll grab some fruit (this morning it was 2/3 cup of blueberries) and a 110 calorie Pria bar (easy to grab and go if you're in a rush). My favorite "bar" breakfast food is Soy Joy Mango Coconut bars because they keep my stomach full until lunch and are really tasty and low cal!

Breakfast is for sure my favourite meal of the day. I get up every morning and pretty much skip to my kitchen.

That being said, I love the 'classic' breakfasts. Also, I eat the same thing pretty much every day for maybe 3 mts at a time, and then switch to something new. Here are some of the fad breakfasts that have passed through my life:

    - Cream of wheat made with vanilla rice or almond milk.
    - Whole wheat muffets with sliced banana and strawberries, with vanilla rice milk. So much fun to eat - makes me feel like a kid :blushing:
    - Cottage cheese with green onion (scallions), sometimes over multigrain bread. Perfect with a side of fruit or OJ. [And for those egg lovers in MFP land, my current breakfast is Cheesy Eggs: Lightly cook scallions over a low heat. Throw in an egg and a tablespoon of 1% cottage cheese. Stir together over low heat, leave it uncovered and wait til it gets lightly browned before you flip it. Eat it over a slice of multigrain toast! So. Good.]
    - Plain yoghurt with sliced almonds/walnuts and dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, etc), stirred together with a touch of honey. mmmmm
    - Bulk Barn sells a really great 5 grain pancake mix that I make with blueberries and top with some (sugar free) jam.
    - Toasted Whole wheat weight watcher's bagel with light cottage cheese and jam (for a sweet tooth!) or sauerkraut (because my eastern european blood demands it)

Hope that helps! I love breakfast! I wish it was breakfast right now

any whole grain cereal is good ( Kashi, Fiber One, etc.) with skim milk, I also like to put fruit in mine ( blueberries, raspberries, bananas)

theres also a couple brands of whole grain frozen waffles out there that are great (Kashi, Van's) I also like to have that with a protein shake so I have some type of protein in the morning, or canadian bacon, only 60 cals for three slices and very filling!!

my mom aslo bought me these sweet potato pancakes from De Wafflebakers that are delicious, filling, and not too many calories. She bought them at Wal Mart, I'm not sure were else they have them

I'm totally obsessed with Zone bars right now. I love the cinnamon roll one...it tastes like it should be bad...(unlike some of the other meal replacement bars) its packed with good for you stuff and its a whopping 210 calories!

That combined with the fact that you can throw them in the bottom of your purse, don't have to cook them, and can take them anywhere....

heres their site that shows what other flavors they offer:
