Being told "have you lost weight?"

So about a year ago, I semi-started to lose a little weight. I am 5'5" and I weighed about 164 when I started all this. A size 8 was pretty tight. I had started to lose weight for a little bit and when people asked me then "have you lost weight?" I was almost offended because in 2008, even after having a baby, I was always about a size 4, so I hadn't experienced that before. I was totally not used to "have you lost weight" being a compliment because I felt like that meant people thought I was "bigger" to begin with. (I should add that I was in total denial of gaining weight before this time last year...in my mind I still felt like a size 4 even though I was totally out of shape and almost 3 whole sizes bigger).

I ended up plateauing last year at about 157 and have maintained that weight but not lost any (actually gained 2 lbs over holidays). I got serious about MFP at the first of the year and while I don't have a scale at home & every scale I use is different, I know I have lost at least 6 lbs (added back a lot of muscle tood) which isn't much, but I am fitting into my size 6s again and size 8s are loose. Just now, a former co-worker whom I haven't seen in about 3 months came into my office and said "You look good! Are you losing weight??" It felt SO good! I can't believe I used to not take that as a compliment!

Love reading everyone else's success stories on here and using them as my motivation!

You are doing an awesome job. Keep it up!!! I love to hear the words "have you lost weight?" Since I have lost 25 lbs and 2 sizes, I want people to recognize my hard work; it gives me a boost of confidence when I hear it.
