i'm just starting to ween my 10 1/2 month old daughter from breastfeeding. i'm just replacing 1 breastfeeding meal with 1 bottle per day for now, and plan to slowly increase bottle feedings and decrease nursing. for my calorie intake, i've been just putting "breastfeeding- 6-12 month old baby" which adds -300 calories per day to account for the extra i need for breastfeeding. but now that i'm weening, i'm thinking i won't need quite that much extra every day. any tips on how to account for it while weening? what have other moms done?

I use the breastfeeding mom by ounce option. It subtracts just the same, but it's a little easier for me. For instance, my son is breastfed and supplemented with formula so each day varies a bit. I don't know if you know about how much she gets oz wise when she breastfeeds, but I know mine gets about 4oz each time so I just mentally take a note- and then of course when I pump it's very obvious how many oz have been consumed by him in a day. I hope this helps a little!

i have no idea how much she's getting... i've tried pumping but my body could NEVER get let down on a pump. I tried for 6 months and i never got more than 1 oz, and that was while my daughter wasnursing on the otherside. i know she's getting something because she dribbles milk and i hear her swallow, but i've got no clue how much...

Hmm, that could be a little tricky. You could always guesstimate it. For instance research the average consumption for a 10 month old- and then subtract from that whatever you are giving her in the form of formula and then count the difference as your amount of oz for the day.
