Hey everyone:
I am new to myfitnesspal and so far its pretty great. I just got my P90x in the mail and i plan on doing it to the end!!! I did my first excerise today for a test run. i decided to do plyonomics WHAT A TERRIBLE MISTAKE!!! My thighs and hips ache. I guess thats what I get for doing the hardest one first. I just bought the southbeach diet book because my friend claims she loss 20 lbs in the first couple of weeks. So I decided to take the challenge as well. Well sorry for rambling on... but I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this combination or just one of the two? And how did it turn out? Thanks, Ms.Cherry4319

Southbeach is great because it is healthy eating. Plenty of protein, and veggies. You only cut out sugars (even natural) at the beginning to get yourself over the cravings. You can usually get important vitamins like C and A from your veggies if you are concerned. To me, South Beach is the way to live your life. It is a diet to teach you how to eat right. Good luck! I have no idea about P90x or even what it is, but good luck!0

The South Beach diet is pretty similar to the meal plans in P90X. Bottomline, low carb and higher lean protein. You should do well. Keep in mind that you may need a protein shake to supplement your calories requirements.0

I tried South Beach and I lost about 20 lbs in a month, but then I put it all back on (and probably then some) over time. Recently, I've been doing a sort of modified South Beach and I find it a lot easier to follow and to stick to it. I love bread, rice and fruit too much to give it all up, even if it's only for 2 weeks. The fruit is the hardest part for me. Personally, my attempts at losing weight fail when I deprive myself of things that I love. I know others who have done it and you really have to adopt the South Beach diet full time to maintain the weight. It might just work for you. Otherwise, you can use some of the recipes and they're pretty good on the calorie scale (so I've found so far).
As far as the P90x ... I have no opinion because I'm too chicken to try it out. haha But I sincerely admire all of those who do it. One day... but for now Turbo Jam works for me.
Good luck! 0 -
I have used the south beach diet book for great health recipes, but my active lifestyle need way more food. I lost 15 lbs doing only the cardio, plyo, core, and stretch 2days a week with 3-4 days of weight lifting. p 90 x will do wonders. My fitness on my phone has helped me break past to my next goal. if you stay committed you we see and love the result0

[HunnyluvsJorge] i feel the exact same way..i just read through the book at for phase one i cacn not eat fruit or bread. Those are my favorite things to eat. But if I stick to it i think i can lose the weight (whats two weeks without food you love!!!)0

More power to you hun! I was able to do it once and I'm an addict! I just fell off the wagon and find it difficult to get back on. haha But you can do anything so long as you put your mind to it. I think I said that for me, if I feel deprived, I'll eventually quit. And this time quitting is NOT an option so I'm eliminating my pitfalls if I can.
Be prepared for your change! You're gonna look AWESOME!! MOVE THAT SCALE!0
