Hey all, I'm interested in purchasing an HRM. Any advice on the most accurate brand?

In my opinion, Polar is one of the best! I have the FT4 and love it.

I swear by my Polar HRM. I have the F7 and wouldn't trade it for the world!

I have a Polar FT40 and LOVE it! I won't workout without it. My favorite thing about the FT40 in particular is that it tells you whether you are burning fat (low intensity workout) or in Fitness mode (high intensity; heart strengthening). Either way I think a good majority of people on this website have a Polar.

Is the wear link strap an arm band? It doesn't say. Do you all wear the chest band?

Wear Link is the chest strap - specifically it's Polar's new style chest strap with the full fabric band that you snap the transmitter module onto, which lets you pop the transmitter back off and throw the strap in the washing machine, and which is also more comfortable than the plastic straps and conforms to the shape of your body better so it doesn't lose contact and therefore more consistently transmits your heart rate to the watch.

I have a Polar FT60 that I absolutely love, and have used several others including cheaper units like a sportline (which I HATED), but I'd recommend reading this blog post before you make any purchases:
