Starting Seriously or Seriously Starting

Good Morning! I've decided that in order for me to be successful in my weight loss and fitness goals, I need to use the tools I have at my disposal seriously and consistently. I came to this conclusion because even though I run, swim and bike, I could complete these activities a lot more easily if I were a few pounds -- like 50 -- lighter. (I'm 192.2 and have a goal of 145.) I've known this since last year when I began running but I had a revelation yesterday when I was running in the gym on the track and there were mirrors all around where I could see myself. ( I signed up for a mini-triathlon and we were doing a running training session.) Usually I run outside or on my treadmill at home with no mirrors and no one else to watch run and kind of compare myself to. Even though I felt great like I usually do, watching myself was just nothing short of embarrassing:blushing: . What an awakening! I have My Fitness Pal at my fingertips and after poking around on the website, I found motivation in the forums and good information here and there so here goes. My first week of serious accountability.

I understand the mirror thing. I have full length mirrors all around my bedroom. I don't feel too bad about myself until I change in from of the mirror. I am also about 190 pounds and would like to get down to at least 150. I don't have a scale, but that was my weight the last time I weighed myself, and I am still wearing the same clothes.0

I'd rather not look at myself in the mirror as well, especially when I'm about to get into the shower! What I "think" I look like is much more fit than what I actually look like. MFP has been a HUGE help for me and I'm sure it will be for you too. Good luck!0
