Has anyone read this book? Is it worth it? I used to follow spark people but find MFP MUCH better for me personally. Just wondering if the book is worth buying though.

I have not read the book, although I have gone through it a number of times in my local book store. It does look really good, but I plan on checking it out of my library before spending the money on it. If I think it's a "keeper", I'll buy it.

    Hiya

I havnt read the book but like you, I joined spark people as a woman at work was using it - but I didnt like it. I am so pleased I found MFP - much more user friendly in my opinion - and unlike spark people I belive (but could be wrong!) MFP factors in exercise cals to your weight loss...

I love MFP and all the peeps on here!

The people from "Spark" came to a professional development day at my work (I'm a school teacher) and they had a lot of intriguing things to say.

One thing is that doing exercise in the morning gives you a lot of energy for the remainder of the day. The whole first chapter is about how a school is taking initiative and having an exercise regimine in the mornings. Because of this initiative, my school is now doing this as well.

They also talk about how heart rate monitors do a great job at showing you the amount of calories that you burn (I'm really considering getting one because I got to wear one for the day).

Overall, the book is very helpful. I haven't read it all, but there are some amazing stories in there and it really helps with weight loss
