Sea Kelp - metabolism

I am trying to grow my hair for my wedding and my hairdresser told me to take sea kelp tablets. On the packaging it says that it also helps with your metabolism. My weight loss is slowing down and this week I actually put on 2lbs ( I did have 2 quite bad days but was very good the rest of the week), I am therefore putting this down to my metabolism slowing down maybe because of starvation mode. Has anyone has had any experience of taking sea kelp and had an increased metabolism from it?

The only conclusion I can formulate from taking sea kelp is the increased iodine. Iodine is important in regulation metabolism and people with low thyroids tend to need more iodine to help with their metabolism.
Either way, i know sea kelp along with other sea vegetables are really good for you.0 -
the packaging is most likely stating that it can help with metabolism due to the iodine in sea kelp. If your thyroid isn't functioning properly then sea kelp is sometimes taken(due to iodine) to help correct it. On the other hand, if your thyroid is functioning just fine already...then sea kelp will most likely not help your metabolism...IMO...having said that, sea kelp is packed with a number of beneficial vitamins and minerals that are easily absorbed.0
