I think I might have figured it out...

So, i've been doing the C25K workouts for about the last 7-8 weeks (had a little time off for sickness and injury) and i've felt like i've been stuck on week 7. I would start running, get past the five minute funk (finally get a rythym and never be able to run the full time). I've been thinking about this the last couple days because i REALLY want to run and do races and stuff, plus i just like the way it makes me feel. Anyways, so last night i download some 'positive' up beat music and when i went down to run today i covered up the display on my treadmill. See, sometimes before i'd think, oh i just need to get atleast a mile, or a certain number of calories and then i'd stop. Today, i covered the display up with a magazine. I told myself that when i started to get REALLY tired i could look to see how far i went. I ran 1.5 miles before i needed to look!! I'M SO EXCITED!! This means that I CAN do it and it's not as bad as i feel like it is!!

Excellent job! There's nothing as effective as listening to your body and stopping when it needs to stop, rather than when your brain feels like you should stop. I did that last night, when riding my (currently stationery) bike. I go so much longer and get a much better workout when I don't worry about what the numbers say, and just listen to my body.
Keep up the great work! You're getting there! :-)0
