I have tried several brand, different types for whey to hemp to rice/pea. I try to get one without any artificial sweeteners - that said, my favorite by far is Beachbody's Shakeology. The best taste and texture I've found. It is very expensive but to me it's worth it.

I use Premier Protein - Chocolate. I have 1 or 2 everyday and doing well. Just remember if you up your protein, up your fiber.......yes, really!

I have a pre and post workout protein drink. About 30-45 minutes before I work out, I use GNC 100% Whey Protein (Cookies and Cream) into 8oz of water. Immediately after my workout, I use the same GNC 100% Whey Protein in 4oz. of 1% lowfat chocolate milk. Gives me energy before, and recovery after. I've really been able to bring it to my workouts (P90X) using this regimen.

Also, I use GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme as a meal replacement if I am having a hard time meeting the protein requirements of my diet. Each scoop is 20g of protein and will put one scoop in for each 4oz of water.

At night, I use Dymatize Elite Casein protein supplement before I go to bed. It is a slower metabolizing protein that absorbs in your body for slow muscle recovery while you sleep.

I am not a devotee of GNC, but they are close and I don't like paying for shipping by ordering online. The taste isn't too bad, but I am not that picky either. Just tilt back and drink it all in a few gulps.

    Good luck...

I love EAS Carb Control protein shakes. They are pre-mixed, easy to tote, and come in three flavors (Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla). Also, theyre only 110 calories, 17g protein and 2g sugar!
  • I love Jay Robb whey protein, reason being, that it is sweetend with "Stevia" and packs 25g of protein per scoop! and it tastes great, other than Jay Robb I also use the "wegmans" brand whey protein, it too is sweetend with Stevia, but has less protein per serving (18g)

The blurb from Jay Robbs web site :

    Made With 100% rBGH-Free
Whey protein isolate as the protein source
Sourced from grass fed cows not treated with rBGH (Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone)
25 grams of protein per serving!
Mixes with a blender or shaker bottle
    No fat, No cholesterol
    No sugar, No aspartame
No artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners
    No casein, msg or gluten
    Made with stevia

Pro Complex by ON is one of the best tasting (in my opinion) it mixes well with just plain water and has a ton of protein for a relative few calories (60g of protein, 270 calories, 5g of carbohydrates)
It works well as a recovery drink and I've also used it for a drink during long runs (over 1 hour).
It comes in Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, rocky road (not as good as it sounds like it should be)
I've tried a few other brands that are less expensive

Go to DPS Nutrition and order it on-line, DON'T go to GNC or most storefronts they'll be 1/3 to twice as much
