I just finished the first P90X workout (I only thought I was strong) but I am a little worried my big 3 will suffer.
If there are any serious lifters around who do or did P90X I would like to hear your thoughts on this matter.

By the way, P90 is awesome!!!

Seems to me that working your smaller muscles would only help with power lifting, not hinder it.
  • I started the p90x last month... more of a day on, day off due to work.. (kinda defeats the purpose of the p90X, really)

I love the abs workout bit and also the yoga.... not into the weights too much but i do try them... I do feel a real difference after doing them, after the abs workout i could even feel it on the backs of my thighs the next day (must have been the stretching or something)

Not keen at all on the nutrition part, as i dont like buying protein shakes ect... i think its easier to add in a healthy food diet instead...

    What is the big 3??

nah this won't hurt ya...I did lift in past but got seriously outta shape after a couple of surgeries...used the excuse I didn't want to risk injury...

when you get to the day/exercise that targets where you really want results add some weight and add intensity. Shoot for maxing out on 6 reps and use the rest of the time allowed to ballistic stretch...

I am currently doing P90 x and have seen/felt results after only 6 days. After workouts do your normal protein recovery shake. Make sure you are upping your cal intake to give your body the tools to build. You know the drill...

Just give EXTRA where you want EXTRA

Didn't realize you'd only done day 1 so far....you will do lots of squats and dead lifts...no bench press but push ups and pull ups to failure will get you even better here
