Help I cheated, and don't know the calories!

OK, so today is a holiday for me and visiting family. I went to the bar with my husband and my dad and had a couple of large Strawberry Margaritas. I have been so good until today, but I don't know how many calories are in one and because I drank them I don't know where to get the calorie counts. You think with a screen name like mine I would know. :drinker: Anyway, I just need to know how bad I was, ( I feel so guilty and sorry I drank them) and then I hadn't eaten and I had some Fried Zucinni (spelled?) Pretty much that is all I had today besides some fruit and I did swim this morning. Did I ruin my hole thing and should I just not worry about it because I am on a trip? Should I have dinner? Oh my goodness, I messed up.
You know it wasn't worth it!

First of all, R-E-L-A-X ! ! ! ! !!!!
You drank two large ones? You're looking at between 280 - 350 calories apiece.
Now for some education. The alcohol (1oz per drink avg) only counts for 65-75 calories, so the damage was not done in the booze, but the sugar found in it is where the sins are. :grumble: Margaritas are made with the tequila, SUGAR SYRUP, and lime, the latter two ingredients are pure SUGAR (limes and lemons are two fruits with the highest sugar content of any fruit).
The way to deal with this is to avoid the mixes, or find sugar free ones. If you want a good buzz, you're better off shooting straight tequila. I have had to cut my alcohol intake from 2-3 drinks four nights a week to ONE ONLY.
Not that I mind - my brother died of cirrhosis of the liver last November just before his 46th birthday, so the lesson is that even if you DON'T have a drinking problem, you can still damage your liver, so cutting back on booze is always a good thing.
Second, the deep fried zuchinni is not such a bad thing, because the zuchinni isn't bad - the calories in that dish are all in the breading and the oil it's fried in.
How hard did you swim, and for how long? If you got some good cardio burns there (20-30 minutes and 125 bpm for your HR), you did well. In fact, you probably have not eaten enough and should think about eating something else before the end of the day.
I personally don't think you did as much damage as you think you did, except for some empty calories.
Everyone is entitled to a weird day now and again. Life happens, and we can't stop living just because we're on a mission!! Chill out, don't be so hard on yourself!!0 -
Thank you, I was kind of looking at stuff and guestimating on how much I blew it and even with everything including my burned calories am allowed over another hundred calories, but I am still going to eat a dinner because I think it would be healthier than not at this point. I did swim for over an hour and was really doing a pretty good work out, so I feel good about that. But I think I will try and do something else tonight work off a little more after dinner, a good long walk maybe. Darn Vacations ruin everything.
Thanks for the good vibes though, it really helped! I don't feel like a total looser, just a bad girl.:glasses:0 -
You aren't the only one who broke away from 'the plan'. For dinner, I simply logged a meal of "Food I Shouldn't Have Eaten" and put down 1500 calories. *sigh* Gotta get up tomorrow and start all over...0

You can use Calorieking.com to look up food calorie/nutritional values too it's very helpful and has a lot of foods that aren't in the database here yet
As for feeling guilty, we've all been there and done that but just remember that tomorrow is another day0 -
Everyone has days like that. I had chocolate cake with chocolate frosting but I had a way smaller piece than I would have liked.
Eating healthier to me doesn't mean that you have to shy away from everything all the time, I personally feel that when I have moments where I eat something "unhealthy" that is satisfying and fun, I remember that and I don't crave it anymore.
You didn't ruin everything because every day is a new day, you hopefully had fun, enjoyed the margaritas, which judging by your screen name you really enjoy, and will do better tomorrow.
Don't beat yourself up over it, you did nothing wrong and if you avoided all the fun food and drink ALWAYS then you would be bored and hungry. Better to have a little sometimes, than none ever or a lot always. If that makes sense! : )0 -
Ditto on all of the replies above! I'm coming back from vacation right now, and there were a couple of days that just "went out the window" :blushing: ( I didn't go Crazy, but I know that I went over)!
enjoy your va-ca! have a good time!

Yeah, you have to be able to still enjoy yourself once in a while. A couple of margaritas never killed anyone! And at least there was some zucchini in the fried stuff that you ate! LOL....Enjoy your long weekend and get back on track when you get home. Have fun!0

Thanks, I didn't do as bad as I could of I guess. I did kind of ok yesturday until my mom made her classic all the wrong things for dinner, but I ate the big salad before everything else. Then she put out the Pistachios! :grumble: I just didn't track yesterday at all so as not to mess with my day, but I got in a lot of play and I am sure killed a lot of calories. Today I am started back on track even with the long drive. I can't wait to go running in the morning.
Thanks to all for letting me off the hook for playing hooky on the counting calories, I am glad to be back though and back in control!
Oh and as we passed a Super Target I made my husband stop so I could run in and grab a jar of that Better N peanut butter stuff. I think it is OK. Of course nothing as good as the origianl Skippy creamy for me, but I will be able to enjoy this very much I think.:bigsmile:0
