Calisthenics of any sort really. Pushups, unweighted squats, prisoner squats, dips... those are all things you can do without weights. If you have a jump rope, that's a good form of cardio. I would suggest a kettlebell, since i want to get one, but I don't know enough about the routines you can do with them. But they're supposed to be excellent for fat burning.0

yay to you for wanting to work out in the winter!
there are plenty of simple exercises you can do at home anytime of the year anytime of the day. lay a towel on the floor and stand to the side of it. try jumping sideways over the towel back and forth. it's surprisingly difficult! first try to jumps that get your heels to your bum. then alternate with jumps where you try to get your knees to your chest (much harder). be careful to try to land as softly as possible. this means bending low and using your quads. if you slam down hard, you're allowing your knees to absorb the impact (very dangerous for your knee health!)
push-ups are always great. if you can't do a real proper push-up on your toes, this is a great challenge to work on! try it first higher up, like with your hands on a counter and leaning into the counter. if that's too easy, go lower, like to a dining table, then a coffee table, or a chair and work your way down to the ground. in theory, the first thing to touch the floor should be your chest. if your hips are touching down, that means you're not engaging your abs and you need to lift your butt! and your head/chin shouldn't touch before you chest either. that means you're not engaging your shoulders.
have you tried simply dancing to your favorite artist? see how many songs you can get through. if you're really hardcore, try jumping jacks or even jump roping. KILLER!
good luck to you!!!0 -

I cleared a path in my family room where i can run a tight oval. I estimate it as a slow jog (5mph). I do 10 min in one direction then 10 in the other. with music playing time goes fast. i get my pulse rate from 77 to 135 and my legs burn, and my core gets warm. I figure I have to be doing something. I started with 10 minutes once a day, then 20 minutes. I am at 20 minutes twice a day now. That and my 1280 calories a day and a few sets of stomach crunches I have lost 10 lbs since february 14th. Also I recalibrated my goal with my reduction and it has me eating 1250 cals per day now. My weight goal is 165ish (at 5' 9" thats a middle BMI). Havent weighed that since the 70's ha. (181.6 this morning)........0
