Drinking Enough Water Does Help Curb Appetite!

I am only on my 4th day into my weight loss and I have to say that at first I was skeptical that drinking enough water would help that much in curbing my appetite but it is really helping! At first I viewed having to increase my water consumption as a nuisance and something I would have to force but I now see what a big help it is in controlling my hunger. I now realize how much I was depriving myself of water before. I found an app for my smart phone that allows you to track your drinking water and sends you a notification when it is time to drink and I find it very helpful.

just wondering how water can help curb your appetiteand cravings.......... would also like to know the app as i drink no water during the day except in my one cup of tea
  • I use a 20-24 oz iced drink (like Starbucks but cheaper) container that has a straw. I find it easier to drink my water that way. If I drink 4 than I am easier at 80 oz of water. I've read you should drink half your body weight. I try to drink 20 oz right off the bat in the morning when I wake up, and cut myself off by 6pm, otherwise I am up all night peeing.
Not only does it curb your appetite but it also flushes your body of that extra "water" weight you are holding on to. I can tell when I don't have enough water intake for my week, usually I have a smaller weight loss that week.

  • Hi all. According to message board rules it looks like I am not allowed to promote any websites or apps but if you have a smartphone you should be able to find it. Sorry.

I basically keep a half dozen liter water bottles handy, and always have 'em filled and cold in the fridge. I'll throw them in the freezer for an hour or two to get them in a super-chilled, semi-frozen state to keep them cold while I drink them. I take a couple to work, and easily consume another third before and after work when I am home. That easily takes me to 99 oz., and sometimes I'll do more.

I just refill the liter bottles with tap water at home, so there is always chilled water available. At home, I am a bit slower to drink the water, but at work I am sipping on it pretty regularly throughout the day. Using the liter bottles makes it really easy to track the amount of water I'm drinking.
