Exercise and BPM

Options
Hi!
My resting heartrate's 60/80 or 80/60 whichever way it goes! Just did half an hour of exercise and it's 120 bpm. this good enough for heart rate rise in relation to burning calories?
Any info would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Here you go--this site can help you pinpoint what your target zone is for heart rate

Further question on this: My THR is 132 max. For the last two aerobic sessions on the crosstrainer (elliptical), I've been measured at between 140-154 by the machine's heart rate monitor. Yes, I HAVE been working it harder.

The question I have is that if I'm working at a much higher rate than the THR, and comfortably so (which I am), how does this affect the calorie/fat-burning that I want to have happen?

Here's some links to some really good articles for you that explain the differences in the zones and benefits/disadvantages to working out within each.

It can be dangerous to exercise in or near the maximum heart rate zone--and you might want to also consult your doctor about it.

I looked at the links but they didn't really address what I was asking. I don't feel a "burn" at the level I described, for example. In fact, I'm hardly winded - sweaty, yes, but not out of breath at all.

It's around 90% of my THR, though. I do it about 3 times a week, depending on my schedule.
