I need a scale

It's hard to lose weight when you don't own a scale. And I don't. I'm a college student and it just didn't make it onto my back to school list for the past few years. Anyway, I'm looking into buying one. Are there any that you would recommend or that I should avoid? Remember, I'm a college student, so money is an important factor. Thanks!

I found this scale: http://www.amazon.com/Glass-Body-Fat-Bath-Scale/dp/B003U4NDTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299479898&sr=8-1-spell
at Fred Meyers (owned by Kroger) earlier this year on sale for $15. Not every Taylor is great (I bought a $20 one at Target that couldn't give an accurate reading and didn't have nearly as many features), but I think this one was a fabulous deal and I am really pleased with it. If you have a Kroger/Fred Meyer/other Kroger owned store in your area, I would see if they carry it!0 -
Hey fellow college kid! I have the same problem: no scale, no money, and no amount of convincing will get my parents to buy one for me. Until you get one, check your school's gym for one you can use. It's a bit of a walk to mine, so I only use the scale in the locker room on Sundays before my dance class. It helps tide me over until I've saved up enough. Good luck0

This is the one I have. It's a Taylor that is also branded for The Biggest Loser (not that i care at all about that, never even seen the show). It's $39.99 but since it's Bed, Bath and Beyond you can use one of their 20% off coupons to buy it. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=16691062
But it's great, I can step on and off of it multiple times and always get the exact same reading, which is more than I can say for other scales I've been around. It weighs in .2 of a pound and the numbers are big and easy to read. It holds data in it's memory for multiple people in the household. You enter your info and save that and each time you chose to record your weight into the setting it also tells you what your approximate maintenance calories would be as well as your BMI.
Of course, you can also just step on the scale and get your weight without having to record it into the setting. But all of the buttons are easy enough to just press with your toes, so you don't ever have to fuss with it at all, no matter what you do with it.
I've been really happy with it.0 -
