Zumba or Biggest Loser Game for Wii???

I can't decide whether to get the Zumba game for the Wii when it's released here in the UK next month, or get the Biggest Loser game for the Wii which I think is already out. It would be good to hear opinions from anyone on here who have the games and I can see what one would suit me more.

I thought the Zumba game would be fun but I don't know how to work out how many calories I've burned doing it. If anyone knows how I could work this out I would be very grateful!

The Biggest Loser game has a lot more in it which I think I could benefit from - does it tell you how many calories you've burned from doing their exercises? I think the Biggest Loser game sounds similar to the Wii Fit(Plus) game which I already have and don't want to have similar games. Also, is the game similar to the online Biggest Loser Club? It costs £2.50 per week, which I don't want to spend if I am getting the same on the game!

I have the zumba for wii. I've only done it like twice but would love to have someone to do it with. As for TBL I don't know anything about it. Zumba does not show calories burned, so we r in the same situation. It is a very good workout though. I feel like I'm burning alot of cals. Sorry I couldn't help much but if u get zumba add me as a friend and we can do it together:) angie_04 Happy shopping:smile:

    Hi there

I have not usedt he Biggest Loser Game for the Wii BUT I LOVE and USE Zumba every day as my aerobic workout. Its fun, you work up a crazy amount of sweat and once you get a handle on the moves - its not difficult to do.

Here are a couple pointers that I learned by doing and asking others:

-I spent the first week doing Basic 20 minute workout (they have a Work-Out Calendar option) - it was enough to get m heart going but not enough time at aerobic.

-Switched to Intermediate 45 minute work out- the moves are the same so not harder just longer so you have time to get your heart rate up and keep it up.

    - the bigger your moves and more wiggle you put into it the better - you burn and sweat more.

-it doesn't count how many calories you burn but after checking with others on here - I list it as aerobic, general.

    Hope this helps. Happy Zumba-ing!!!

Zumba still hasn't come out for the Wii in the UK :frown: they've put back the release to April now. Have to say I can't get on with the Biggest Loser. I prefer the EA Sports Active. The calorie burn seems very low on TBL.

I am also interested in input regarding those two games.

I have been walking at home with the Wii Walk it Out game and enjoy that a lot. Just received Just Dance 2 which features a "just sweat" mode where I gather you just get up and keep moving vs. competing against others. However, I have not had a chance to try it out yet - hoping to this evening. I also ordered Gold's Gym Cardio Workout which features cardio boxing and other activities. The Walk it Out and Gold's Gym both track calories burned based on your weight, age, exercise intensity, etc. Not sure about the Dance game.

Anyway, good luck in your quest for the best game for you. Hopefully someone with experience with one or both will provide some input.

I just bought the Biggest Loser Challenge and it has 5 different activity levels which I like. You can also set the amount of time you want to spend exercising along with the intensity. I chose it when it was recommended by a friend who loves it!

Do both of these games require the wii fitness board? And if yes, is that really expensive?

I dont have a Wii so I cant comment on what the game would be like, but I go to Zumba classes and it's great fun!!!! I wear a heart rate monitor and normally burn around 600 calories for a one hour class!!

I find that there are so many fitness games for the wii, xbox etc so it's hard to decide what is suitable for me without spending all that money!! I have a wii fit board so if any of the games need that, I already have it. I will be getting a HRM soon too so that may be more helpful to measure what I have burned. The EA one looks good too! But I will look into everyone's messages tonight and decide from there! Thanks everyone! :flowerforyou:
  • I am new to this site, but I have both games on the Wii and I love 'em both. The Biggest Loser is great as an all around workout with or without weights, shows calories, weight, etc. With the Zumba game it is fun as you are dancing, so it gets your heart rate up and burns calories, but does not reflect the numbers. I wear the BodyBugg so I can only tell what I have burned calorie wise doing to the beginner Zumba class...20 minutes burned 70 calories and about 2300 steps! I used to do the classes at a gym for an hour and would sweat and all that but never knew how many calories burned since I didn't have the bodybugg at the time. But I think that if I do the 60 minutes on the Wii and really get into it like I did in the classes, I should burn like 400+ calories...maybe more. I will say this about the two products, if you are large around midsection, then the zumba band might be small....I am a size 18-20 and it fit me, but barely. The Biggest Loser needs the board, which you have to buy seperately unlike the zumba band that comes with game. Hope this helps!

In the my fitness pal, for the exercises, of the biggest loser, I am doing the beginner. what type of exercise do you put it in for to be calculated ?? Yesterday I put in Aerobics.. Cause the exercises was for the strength and that don't calculate.. And I want to know how many calories I burned by doing this, even though the biggest loser does show me that but you can't put it in MFP manually...
    Thanks :)
