I'm thinking about buying the DVDs...what's people's experience with this? I'm apparently losing lbs, but I've gained 1.5 inches in my hips...definitely NOT what I had in mind:noway:

One of the videos...I think it was Cardio Axe hurt the hell out of my neck. I think I was twisting my neck to see the video. I liked the boom boom or bum bum video...that was fun.

thanks! one other note...i can't do a lot of high impact stuff, as i'm still recovering from a ruptured Achilles. but if you have other suggestions, please let me know!
  • I bought the DVD's and I love them. There are a few different workouts depending on your body shape. In the 2 weeks since I started, I've definitely noticed a difference in the inner thigh area (which is where I seem to put on weight).

Since you're working with an injury, I would maybe try googling some "butt-lifting" workouts that you can do at home without having to do anything high impact. I know that BBL is meant to do at home as well, but I was looking at videos and it looks very high impact. It's pricey too, so I would hate to see you drop the money on it and then find out that you cant do a lot of the moves :( googling is free! And maybe you can find some good exercises to get you started on your behind!

I think it's a great system. I'm not a huge fan of the cardio workouts. It's dancing, which I love to do with a group, but not so much by myself at home. The sculpting and tush/ab workouts are REALLY good. I actually hadn't done it in a LONG time, (because I switched to P90X) when I started seeing a Chiropractor & PT for my knee & IT band. The exercises that my doctor had me do to build the muscles in the side of my butt and glutes are all on the BBL. He even has me using the same resistance bands that they use in the videos. I already liked BBL, but it really added a ton of credibility when my doc had me doing the exact same exercises to build muscle and help my knee pain.

edited to add: it's really the cardio workouts that may be considered higher impact, but there is no jumping, that I can remember. The sculpting and toning is all low to no impact.

Have you thought of trying pilates? I LOVE Winsor Pilate videos...I spent a grip on them, but I believe they are lot less money these days and can be found on Amazon. The butt/leg/thigh video is AWESOME. Plus you are laying down for the entire video.

I thought of one more video. Have you looked in Gunnar Peterson's "Core Secrets" balance ball videos? They are not high impact and you get a great workout.
  • Id do Turbo Jam or Turbo Fire and then sculpt that *kitten*!! What you want is lose inches and drop some weight first right? Then you can tone that sexxxy bootay.. but that's just me!

I know Slim in 6 works too! And its cheaper ;)
