Increased appetite side effect of meds :-(

Yep because that's what I seriously need well I'm losing weight, a prescription that is going to make me hungry!
I've mentioned here before that I've been sick for over three weeks and just couldn't seem to shake it so I finally went to the doctors on Friday.
It seems I have a very bad virus that has kicked off my asthma something fierce, so they've put me on three puffers PLUS steroid pills! Which apparently have the side effect of making you extra hungry!!!

Sorry just really needed to vent to people who would understand :-(

    ...it happened to me before. Steroid,corticoid and allergy pills and those kinda things DO make you more hungry but TRY as much as you can drinking liters and liters of water. I found out that most of the time when I felt "full of water" I didn't have place for food in my stomach.
    Try keeping healthy snacks in your handbag so you don't buy nasty food if you have a craving. You can have dry fruits, Nuts, Saltines, things like that....

    And remember you are sick!!! Take care of yourself first and get rid of that virus then refocus. I had the same viru, it gave me bronchitis. I am still on some of the meds as it also stired up my asthma real good.

    Prozac did the same thing to me. Sadly, I gained an easy pound per week on it. It was devastating. I was put on Paxil instead and so far haven't had an issue. I'm only taking it every other day though. I have killer OCD and it seems to be controlling it for the most part :)

    Luckily I'm only on it for a week, I'm starving but I'm fighting it!! Plus I'm on my period, fun times having the two together!

    I gained about 20 pounds while on steroids. =0( I have lost nearly all of that weight and am on my way to dropping some more. It's an uphill battle but it I will be successful.

    It is very discouraging, but I can say that I am glad that I am here to enjoy my kids. Yes I am overweight, but I am working on it. take care of yourself first.
