Okay, so I am trying really really hard to loose this excess weight. I weigh myself every morning, it is motivation (sometimes) When you see the number on the sale go down! But when you see it go up, it is devastating. So on sunday I weighed my self, and I was 179 hip hip hooray!!! I weighed myself this morning and I was 180 :(. I ate exactly the same stuff, I did the week before, so I am not sure why the sudden gain.

Do any of you exeperience this?

Your weight will naturally fluctuate from day to do and even morning to evening. The best advice I can give you is pick one day a week to weigh on and stay away from the scale otherwise. Weigh at the same time in the mornings on the same day each week, generally after you have used the restroom.

I think this happens to everyone, and why some people, including myself, only weigh once a week. I choose the weekend to do it.

My weight fluctuates too. Water weight could be a reason for the difference in day to day weighings. I would recommend not weighing yourself every day. Try to decrease it to 2 times a week. My schedule is Wednesday and Sunday mornings. It's often enough to make sure I am on track but far enough apart that I am not obsessing over any fluctuations.

^^This. If the little ups/downs don't bother you, then daily weigh-ins are fine, but it seems that they DO bother you (since they are "devastating") therefore you should only weigh yourself once a week. Be as consistent as possible (about when/where/how) you weigh yourself to make the gain/loss the most accurate.
  • Friday at work for my contest weigh in I weighed 167.4.. Today on the same scale at work i weighed 170. I did go out to eat more saturday but i had a 1200 Cal burn. Doesnt this seem like its a little bit more then a weight flucuation??

Happens to me too! Can depend on sodium intake, water weight or even howlate you ate the night before!

This week i weighed myself two days after my weight day randomly and i'd put on 2.5lbs and i was p*ssed off! so i went off to get ready for the day, then went backl and used the bathroom and weighed myself about 45 mins later and i was 3lbs down.
No idea what wasgoing on there! I must be superhuman at peeing.
  • Yup. One day I could be 130 and the next 135. Just depends! I'm a woman, so there are plenty of factors to work against me there. Depending on my cycle I could be heavier. Who knows! But like everyone says, it's better to weigh once a week and at the same time. Now, I weigh myself all day everyday because I enjoy driving myself crazy, but that's just me =)

    Yes. Like crazy.
But, think about this; A 20 ounce bottle of water is 1.25 pounds.
I drink a lot of those. There are other things too.

Being the ever curious type I am, and maybe just a little twisted... I once weighed myself before and after a... umm.. making a number two... that was .2 lbs.

I mean, uh... somebody I know did that. Yeah.

No, I cannot take anything seriously. It's a gift.
