I bought this book the other day at Barns & Nobel while looking through the Diet & Nutrition section. I just had to get it. And i just wanted to show it to you all in case some of you were interested in this sort of thing.

it's come in handy already. it tells you what each thing is, and how it is used in food.

For Example (turned to a random page):

Calcium Silicate : An anti caking additive, white or slightly cream colored, free-flowing powder. It is used up to 5 percent in baking powder and two percent of table salts. Also used in vanilla powder. Absorbs water. Also used as a coloring additive. Constituent of lime glass and cement, used in road construction. Practically nontoxic orally, except inhalation may cause irritation of the respiratory tract.

hmm, that sounds yummy x(
